Specialism: Imaging, Liver, Lower GI, Surgical, Upper GI.
Project: We are generating a clinical research sample resource by collecting and storing biological samples donated by adults attending gastro-intestinal clinics and BRU studies (both healthy volunteers and patients).
Aim: We aim to provide a central resource of catalogued, anonymised clinical samples available for new research projects. This will facilitate new novel investigations by providing immediate access to clinical samples allowing much quicker data generation, improving translation of new research hypotheses.
Samples Collected: blood, plasma, serum, DNA, RNA, urine, stool, liver tissue.
Recruitment: Tissue bank consent and collection by BRU nurses
Storage of samples collected during BRU studies WITH CONSENT FOR FUTURE RESEARCH USE.
