12th May 2016

Queens Medical Centre, Derby Road, Nottingham, NG7 2UH

Sixteen members of the NIHR NDDBRU Patient Advisory Group (PAG) are to visit the BRU’s laboratories on the 12th May and will be provided with an opportunity to observe and have ‘hands-on’ experience of the key scientific role our Lab Team play in the clinical research journey.

The purpose of this event is to provide a chance for our patient colleagues to expand their understanding of clinical research, and to complement their existing Patient & Public Involvement knowledge in an area of activity very rarely seen by members of the public. Collaborating with our PAG members is central to our research work, and provides a meaningful way to fully embrace Patient and Public Involvement (PPI). PPI in research means as research being carried out ‘with’ or ‘by’ members of the public rather than ‘to’, ‘about’ or ‘for’ them.

This event is part of the Nottingham Showcase (May, 2016), a celebration of research & innovation.
